The Treaty of Albany
  • This is the official historic document of the Great Peace treaty of Montreal (also known as the Treaty of Albany), which was the peace agreement between the French and the Five Nations Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) that ended a century of violence.
  • This agreement allowed the Haudenosaunee to trade freely with the French, gave the French the ability to settle in Detroit and made the Iroquois promise to stay neutral in the England v. France war.
