Confederation Of Tomorrow: Spotlight On Atlantic Canada

|

The Confederation of Tomorrow Survey of Canadians has released a report on opinions of Atlantic Canadians with regard their views on how things are going in the country. The report found that the level of discontent among Atlantic Canadians has increased. The Brian Mulroney Institute of Government is a proud partner in the study along with the Centre of Excellence on the Canadian Federation, the Canada-West Foundation, the First Nations Financial Management Board, and the Centre D’Analyse Politique ¬– Constitution et Fédéralisme. The survey was conducted by the Environics Institute for Survey Research.

Conducted in January and February 2023, the survey asked Atlantic Canadians about their levels of dissatisfaction. For the first time since the series of surveys began in 2019, the Confederation of Tomorrow Surveys found that dissatisfaction in the region is higher than the national average. This higher dissatisfaction is linked to growing concern about the region’s health care systems and declining confidence in governments’ ability to manage them.
