The Gordie Howe International Bridge Project
  • The Gordie Howe International Bridge Project is known as the largest and most ambitious bi-national infrastructure along the Canada-US border.
  • This project will enhance reliability and security at Canada's busiest commercial port of entry and it will create long-term employment opportunities in the Windsor-Detroit area even after construction is complete.
  • Everyday 7,000+ trucks cross the Canada-US border through Detroit carrying nearly $107 billion in goods each year.
  • The bridge will be owned by Canada and Michigan and is being delivered by Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority through a public-private partnership.
  • The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority was created in 2012 to facilitate and oversee the construction of the bridge, which is set to be completed by 2024.
