Presidential and Secretary Travels to Canada 1923–Present
- President Franklin D. Roosevelt made the first consequential visit to Canada in Quebec City on July 31st, 1936, where he met Governor General Lord Tweedsmuir.
- For over sixty years following this visit, it was tradition for the new president to make their first state visit to Canada until 2001 when George W. Bush visited Mexico first.
