StFX students are invited to create and share manifestos that express a vision, question, or concern about Canada’s future. Manifestos may include goals and aspirations, sets of values, and ethical frameworks that promote the well-being of Canada. They may be submitted in any of the following formats, and students may submit more than one manifesto to be considered by a jury of faculty, staff, administration, and alumni.
- Video: Any combination of techniques (e.g., live-action, interview, animation) that are a maximum of 2 minutes (120 seconds). Videos must have embedded credits, a title, and be suitable for any audience. SUBMISSION FORMAT: MOV or MP4 (max. 400MB)
- Poster: A mix of text and graphics in a design that is both visually remarkable and thought-provoking. SUBMISSION FORMAT: PDF (max size 11” x 17”, 15 MB)
- Image: Original photograph, drawing, or animated image. SUBMISSION FORMAT: JPG, 300 DPI, (min size 8”x8”; 3MB) or GIF
- Text: 500–800 words composed in prose or poetry. Text submissions may be one striking word, rousing statements, or thought-provoking questions. May include up to 5 images, embedded in the file. All quotes and sources must be cited. SUBMISSION FORMAT: PDF; Chicago Manual of Style for sources/references
Competition Information Session and Lunch

A session to share information on the competition and answer participant questions. Refreshments will be provided.
Submission Information
Submission will be featured online and may be considered for future publication and exhibits. Up to 5 manifestos will receive special recognition and a gift card from the StFX Campus Store.
Entries will be judged by a jury using the following criteria:
- Creative approach to the idea of a manifesto
- Creative approach to the idea of a manifesto
- Clarity and attention to detail
Deadline
The deadline for submission is March 25, 2025, by 4:00 pm. Submissions should be sent to mulinst@stfx.ca. Files over 5MB must be shared through a OneDrive folder. Each submission must include a completed registration form.
