Medical Countermeasures to COVID-19
- This is a speech by Dr. Mona Nemer, the Chief Science Advisor of Canada, in Ottawa in April 2020 following the Prime Minister's announcement of funding into more research regarding COVID-19.
- In this speech, Dr. Nemer spoke about the importance of science during the pandemic and the lack thereof at the time, which is especially why there was an urgent need for increased funding.
- Additionally, she spoke about how, for a long time, many cases went undetected due to asymptomatic transmission but with both the PCR and serological testing methods, the genomic initiative and vaccine development will aid in fighting the COVID-19 battle.
