The Hawthorn Report (1967)
- The 1967 Hawthorn Report, also known as A Survey of the Contemporary Indians of Canada: Economic, Political, Educational Needs and Policies, was a report by Howard B. Hawthorn where he investigated the lives of Indigenous peoples in Canada and how they are the most disadvantaged population.
- The Hawthorn Report was seen as a major influence in the creation of the White Paper, as it sought out to increase services for Indigenous peoples (referencing them as 'Citizens Plus'), it also recognized the need for a specialized Indigenous government system, but it also argued that the significance of treaties should be reduced.
