Social Media Comment Policy

 

The Brian Mulroney Institute of Government (Mulroney Institute) at StFX is committed to creating an inclusive, positive, and respectful online environment across all of our digital platforms. The Mulroney Institute is currently active on the following social media platforms: LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Threads, and YouTube.

We encourage public interaction and communication on our social media channels. Your opinion matters, and we do not discriminate against the sharing of differing views and opinions.

However, inappropriate; abusive; discriminatory; hateful or otherwise offensive content, comments, or behaviour will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove or not approve comments that fall into the following categories:

  • Abusive, vulgar, obscene, threating, or harassing statements.
  • Comments that include racist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful language.
  • Attacks on a person, including comments that violate the privacy of an individual or contain personal information (doxxing).
  • Posts that include confidential information pertinent to StFX, the Mulroney Institute, and all StFX related accounts.
  • Libel, slander, or defamatory statements.
  • Spam, including advertising content that promotes individuals, products, or services that directs users to a non-StFX website.
  • Comments that aim to share misinformation or disinformation.
  • Posts that are repeatedly copied and pasted, or duplicated by single or multiple users.
  • Political party messages.
  • Comments that encourage illegal, dangerous, or destructive activity.

 

A comment will not be edited or modified; it may be hidden, reported and/or deleted.

The permanent blocking or banning of individuals who violate this Comment Policy is at the discretion of the Mulroney Institute’s administration.

This comment policy may be amended or updated at any time.
