Canada-US Regulatory Cooperation Council
- The Canada-US Regulatory Cooperation Council (RCC) is an initiative between the two countries to stimulate trade by increasing bilateral regulatory transparency and cooperation.
- Their council's mandate is "to promote economic growth, job creation, and benefits to our consumers and businesses through increased regulatory transparency and coordination".
- The RCC was launched in 2011 and helps serve both countries through health, safety, and environmental protection mandates to reduce unnecessary differences in regulatory frameworks.
- The RCC is run by the United States Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and it provides a forum for industry members, consumers, and non-governmental organizations to discuss regulation barriers and opportunities to identify potential regulatory cooperation.
- This resource explores the RCC Council overview, the work plans, success stories, and stakeholders.
